Technical Engineer
Job summary:

This role will suit a person who has 5 plus years relevant work experience in the IT industry ideally in the MSP space.  You must be able to obtain a clean DBS certificate and provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. You must have a proven customer focus and demonstrate excellent people skills and be a confident communicator, both in writing and on the phone. You will be expected to visit client sites so owning a car and the ability to drive is a prerequisite. A key requirement of the role is to be able to prioritise tasks and be well organised.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in an IT Support role for an IT Service Provider
  • The drive to offer excellent customer service with a friendly approachable manner
  • The ability to prioritise, working through a list of support calls in an organised and methodical manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A can do attitude and proven team working skills
  • Security focused mind-set
  • Experience of supporting and administering the latest Microsoft technologies
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Handling 1st, 2nd and 3rd line service tickets
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of technical issues
  • Conducting network diagnostics
  • Creating and updating of IT documentation
  • Supporting end users and providing basic training in the use of the IT solutions
Required knowledge:
  • Microsoft 365 administration and configuration (Entra/SharePoint/Exchange etc.)
  • Microsoft Windows desktops and servers installation and administration
  • Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and Group Policy
  • Networking: IP addressing and routing, switches, VLANs, wireless networks
  • Network security (firewalls and filtering) installation and administration
  • Antivirus/anti-malware security products
  • Remote access solutions (RDP/Citrix)

Hours of work:

40 hours per week with an hour for lunch. We operate from 8am – 6pm, your hours will vary during these times either 8am – 5pm or 9am – 6pm.
