Adviza

Adviza (formerly Connexions Thames Valley) is a charity inspiring people to make better decisions that help them progress in learning and work, they currently employ approximately 200 staff across multiple sites. In 2011 Connect Systems met with Adviza to discuss their current IT infrastructure and future requirements. At that time the current IT provider were not providing the level of service required and this, in conjunction with a review of the IT costs and limitations of their services, led Adviza to seek a new IT provider.

Adviza did not want to invest a large capital sum in replacement equipment and had a preference to make their server infrastructure site independent and wanted a platform which was flexible to their needs in terms of capacity and cost. With a Head Office, six branch offices and the requirement to deliver remote working we needed to think how to deliver a secure and stable hosted desktop (DAAS) to users within budget. The solution was a new hosted desktop environment configured to allow staff to access their files, applications and email (MS Windows Server, Apps Servers and MS Exchange Server) via Citrix XenApp.

We implemented the Connect Systems Private Cloud environment offering Adviza users a hosted desktop by migrating all of their applications and data from the in-house servers to our cloud platform.

The solution delivered has been upgraded over time to provide a high performing, managed IT solution including consolidating the support and infrastructure to deliver a fully managed remotely based infrastructure and the support of that infrastructure.

Andy Tellam, Head of Information Systems says, “Adviza are very pleased with our ongoing affiliation with Connect and the support we receive under our Managed Services contact. They have enabled us to provide a dispersed workforce across a large geography with a range of both standardised and bespoke operational solutions, all whilst ensuring we are able to maintain compliance with our Cyber Essentials Plus certification.”
